The Forth Bridge in Scotland, and Gorham’s Cave Complex in Gibraltar have been recommended to go forward as the UK’s next World Heritage nominations.  The Forth Bridge nomination will be prepared for submission to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre in 2014 and Gorham’s Cave Complex for 2015, with final decisions expected at the World Heritage Committees in 2015 and 2016 respectively.  The Tentative List of UK sites which could be possible World Heritage nominations was submitted to UNESCO earlier in 2012.  Four sites submitted a Technical Evaluation, the next stage in the process, and these were assessed by an Expert Group, in order to select two recommendations.
