Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman has announced that English forests will remain in public hands, following the publication of the Independent Panel on Forestry's (IPF) Final Report. The panel was established in 2011following a U-turn on government proposals to sell off state-owned forests, and is chaired by the Right Reverend James Jones, Bishop of Liverpool.
