On 20-22 October 2013 Cyark will be formally launching the CyArk 500 Challenge at the Tower of London to digitally preserve 500 cultural heritage sites in the next 5 years.  The launch will take place at a two-day conference looking at the challenges facing cultural heritage, tools and innovation in 3D hardware, software and cloud systems, and the benefits of digital documentation and new educational and interpretive approaches.  Speakers from the UK include Peter Stone (International Centre for Cultural and Heritage Studies, Newcastle University), and Nigel Randall (Head of IS at Historic Royal Palaces) together with a range of international speakers from the US, Japan, Hong Kong and Somalia. There is a special academic rate of £95 for students and individuals associated with academic institutions.  More details and how to register are on the conference website Cyark was set up in 2003 to use new technologies to create a free 3D online library of the world's cultural heritage sites.
