There will be a consultation event on Wednesday 29 August from 1pm to 5pm in Edinburgh on the proposed merger between RCAHMS (Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland) and Historic Scotland.  You need to reserve a place by 15 August.  The consultation follows the publication of the options appraisal report on the future of RCAHMS by the Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs Fiona Hyslop on 4 July 2012.  In this report she announced that she had commissioned a detailed business case for a merger between RCAHMS and Historic Scotland. The full joint statement from RCAHMS and Historic Scotland is here.
