Progress So Far
The international Young Professionals (YP) Working Group had their initial meetings in October 2017. From these initial meetings, the sub-group was set-up to prepare a statement to the General Assembly and ADCOM regarding the establishment, aims and objectives of a Young Professionals Group within ICOMOS. This paper was subsequently presented via the Young Professional Members to the General Assembly in December 2017 by the sub-group members using teleconference, Facebook and members present in Delhi.
The paper addressed four key milestones for the YP Working Group to achieve between now and the next General Assembly meeting. These were as follows:
Milestone 1: Define an Organisational Structure for the YP Group, including national level groups and collaborating with other ISCs.
Milestone 2: Define Emerging Professional membership by February/March 2018
Milestone 3: Establishment of an Emerging Professional Working Group within each National Committee by the end of (end 2018).
Milestone 4: YPWG recommends that the Board endorse the Emerging Professionals Working Group involvement with ongoing and future ICOMOS initiatives.
