ICOMOS, the International Council on Monuments and Sites, is a non-governmental organisation whose mandate is the world's cultural heritage. ICOMOS-UK aims to be the lead voice in the UK for the world's cultural heritage. We provide a forum for all those involved in the conservation of cultural heritage.

ICOMOS-UK holds a number of events during the year ranging from evening lectures to large conferences, the majority of which are open to non-members. Press releases and other ICOMOS news will be posted here.
World Heritage
ICOMOS has special responsibility as adviser to UNESCO on cultural World Heritage sites. In the UK there are now 26 World Heritage sites, of which 21 are cultural sites.

Specialist Committees
Through its specialist Committees, ICOMOS-UK members carry out many of the key objectives of the organisation through the framework of the ICOMOS-UK Strategic Plan. Members of Committees organise conferences, seminars and workshops and undertake research in their specialist fields. The Committees each meet three or four times annually.
INTACH UK Trust
INTACH UK Trust, the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, UK, exists to foster closer ties in the field of art and cultural heritage between the UK and India. It awards grants to UK citizens twice a year in support of research and conservation work in India. INTACH UK Trust is administered by ICOMOS-UK.
Membership
Membership of ICOMOS-UK is open to all those involved or interested in
the broad field of cultural heritage conservation, or who have a professional
interest in this field.
Members of ICOMOS-UK are automatically members of ICOMOS International,
and we encourage members to take part in both national and international specialist
committees.
